The Beast of Wrath

Wrath in the background and, in front, Rain channeling Wrath. Done in inks and ball-point pen with a little bit of a photoshop touchup (Make it toned to red rather then toned to blue). I love my Wrath ^_^ I've drawn these characters a bit before, but never in a picture good enough to show... um, anyone Although some people have seen the Sacrifice lineart, they are few and far between.

Rain has a lot of scaring on his\it's back. I'll explain why below if you can stand reading it


--- Story (Not necesarry to know, but I feel like it) Warning: there's a lot of rambling here ---

Rain (Proving that my subcontious is crap at naming people, pronounced 'Ray-In' by everyone else O_o I think it was trying to name the poor thing 'Lain', since it's similar to the way people pronounce her name. Anyway, not important) was created to keep me amused while I was trying to get to sleep in my days of near insomnia. In the happy little world I created, Rain is the decendant (not direct) of a long dead sorcerer. In the culture she came from, Sorcerers were concidered to be a type of animal - A higher order of animal, like a horse or a good hunting dog, but still and animal. They also had what was known as the '3 curses' - more or less what it sounds like, three curses that kept the sorcerer bound. Hers were Servitude, Adoration and the third, which was never mentioned (Dunnow why it was kept secret). All sorcerers were also concidered to be genderless, so there are no sorceresses - sorcerers were spawned from bloodlines, like a genetic disease. The sorcerer was sent from her family as a gift to a foreign king, and set into his service as a sort of attack-dog. When she died, A piece of herself was trapped in the colar she wore (Part of her curse of Servitude - she must serve out a minimum of two lifes in the service of her master, until he choses to release her). Wrath, being the wrathful creature he was (And also concidering himself the sorcerers 'soul brother'), shatered the colar and escaped into a piece of it. The colar was returned to her original family and given to her sister.

Flash forwards to our little Rain. The colar was passed down though the female line (The disease is thought to be caried through women), and Rain getting into trouble AGAIN for fighting - this time breaking another little boys arm. His mother was enraged, so Rain decided to try to negate her anger by fixing her broken necklace.

He fixed it, but it latched onto his throat face-hugger style and started to strangle him ^_^ It sort of attached itself to his neck via a series of needles. You can't see the colar in the picture above - his heads too low.

Long story made a little shorter - Wrath and the old Sorcerer moved into Rain's brain. Also stripped the poor little bugger if his gender - wasnt' as bloody as you might think though. He could technically still maifest it, but it wasn't really worth it for the nausia and disorientation. And the fact he wasn't used to the hormonal change - and I'm rambling. Moving on.

Rain's mother was surprised, understandably, that she'd managed to spawn another sorcerer. She ended up caught in a fever and cutting Rain's curse into his back, as well as the curse of the Sorcerer that was using his body to fulfil the second part of her own curse. Wrath later scratched it off, so his back is now mostly scar-tissue.

Rain's sphere of influence is mostly the world of dreams, but he can affect the real world. However, acting in the real world takes a tole on his body - casting causes the curse and the area under his colar where the needles have punctured to start bleeding. That may have been my brain's plotpoint to get the little fecker out of his shirt -_- eh. That explains why he's nekkid in the picture above - channeling Wrath in the real world induces bleeding as well. The other creature that sleeps inside him, Magedon, cannod be channeled. That is unimportant. Yes, it's crowded in there. Yes, it does kind of mess him up. Thanks for asking!

There's more of course - I had to keep myself ammused for a while, but the rest isn't that important to this image. If I decide to keep them both around as more permanent characters (Hey, it worked for Bran) then I may actually draw more of it, but otherwise this is all he gets. Nyah. I just really like Wrath ^_^!!! And I like picking on Rain.
