Jordina and Joringel

Inspired by a fairly tale I remember reading. Orion was used because I dooly do enjoy cutting him up. That may explain the 'why him' look he's giving camera right. If you know the fairy tale, the imagery will be familiar, but if you don't - In this story, Joringel and Jordina get caught in the shadow of a castle. When she realises she's caught, Jordina sings "My little bird, with throat so red, sings sorrow, sorrow, sorrow. He sings to the little dove that's dead, sings sorrow, sorrow, sorr...". And then she is turned into a bird.

Joringel later rescues her using a bright red flower that has a large dew-drop in the center. I think a poppy is very apropriate for this flower.

Anyway, some things here are okay, some things are bad. The hair for example looks far too neat, and I'm still not totally proud of the slit throat - it was originally supposed to be torn out, but I couldn't get the torn look to look right. So I cheated a little and used a cut brush. But I'm terribly proud of the poppy he's holding. Painting poppies is dificult. The poppies in the background were coppeid from a source photo, but unfortunantly I don't have where I got it from.
